Homeless: Streets of Santa Barbara

 Good-bye, Mom
Back to Full Blog

My dear almost-90 year old mother passed away last Thursday evening.  She had been in a hospice care facility since Mother's Day of this year and the last couple of weeks got pretty tough for her.  I'm sure she's on her way to a peaceful reunion with her beloved husband, my dad, her daughter, her siblings, and so many friends she made throughout her happy life.

Even though you are expecting it, and it means an end to suffering of any sort, it doesn't make it any easier.  She was my best buddy, and I could talk to her about anything.

Love you, mom, and I'm sure we'll meet again, on the other side of the "Interlife".  You were and are the best.

Gosh, Lulublue, I am so sorry to hear about your mom. Losing your parents is just a void you can't fill, or the loss of your best friend. I lost my best friend, my second husband this day 3 years ago. I've cried all day, and here I go again. I am sending you a big comforting hug.

Lulublue:

I am sorry to hear that you lost your mother. It is always sad to lose a parent, but I think that in most cases it is more difficult to lose a mother than it is a father.

Hello LuLublue, Please accept my deepest condolences on the death of your Mom. I am a 76 yaer old Buddhist, and I lost my Mom in 1976 and have accepted the concept of reincarnation for the past 50 years, nothing dies in the uneverse, only changes, as does all nature. Your mothers everlasting spirit lives on, and never dies, and will remain part of your loved soul group, and will possibly return to you, as a new family member.

I hope to hear from you in happier times. Sincerely, Mike in Tenerife

Thank you, Whit, for your sympathy. It is very hard to lose someone who was always there for you and was also such a fun person to have in your life. She is with dad, a daughter, and siblings and is free of the old, tired physical body. Thank you, again.

Best Always,

Lulublue

Thank you very much, mikeholistic, for the kind, sympathetic words. I am a faithful and firm believer in the cycles and patterns we see all around us, yet in other realms we do not 'see'. Too many experiences have told me that reincarnation is the way it works. It explains so much. Just watching and hearing of mom's last weeks has reinforced my belief. Humbling and so profound. Thank you, again. Yes, things will brighten up, as they always do.

Blessings,

Lulublue
