It would set boundaries for future presidents. Politicians now realize that lies will not be tolerated whether it is about sexual conduct or reasons for war. Criminals will be punished for their crimes. Whether it is an addict stealing to support a habit, a police officer abusing his power, or a president lying to cover treasonous acts, it is not improper to punish that individual to the fullest extent of the law. Crimes are not punished for revenge, they are punished because such behavior is not tolerated in a modern society. lulu | | Posted by Lulublue at 5:27 PM -

How's the election shaping up? I hear somebody is up to their old tricks. Discouraging voters, especially minority voters. Jamming phone lines. Being obnoxious. How many ugly forms of action can one think of? Lies, anger, hatred, insincerity, downright un-civil conduct, dishonesty.

Americans. The day is here. If you haven't already voted by absentee ballot or in person, go do it. You won't be arrested and voting day will not change. Don't be intimidated by anyone. Liars and cheaters might try but don't believe 'em or fall for their schemes. Be well. lulu | | Posted by Lulublue at 11:14 AM -

Shame on you!! Enough already on the misstated joke by Kerry.
Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Perle, and neocabal got us stuck in Iraq. They blew the cover of key CIA people striving to keep us safe from the threat of a nuclear weapon in the Middle East. They destroyed FEMA and threw the US into a hole full of red ink never so deep. They definitely created havoc in the Middle East, too, apparently something they had planned to do since the late '90's which they used the 9-11 attacks as the excuse. Many of the "neo-cons" who were in favor of doing these things have disconnected from the cabal and will admit it wasn't planned to go this way. The plan to rid Iraq of a horribly cruel dictator, the proper action for a dubious reason, has gone horribly out of control and we are currently seeing our military doing a Herculean job (we are with you, ladies and gents) rebuilding that country while avoiding being in the middle of a civil war, a war between sects of Muslims, and a training camp for those desiring an education in guerrilla warfare. Oh, stop it. Terrorism has been around as long as we have; just read the Old Testament or other ancient accounts of the slaughter of hundreds of innocents as well as villainous monsters. No certain individual or country can put an end to a strategy and/or tactic of war fought for just or unjust reasons throughout history of this globe.
The silly, weak effort to avoid the eyes of Americans on moral turpitude of right-wing party members, managing to trample the deadly sins and the commandments no less than just plain reasoned thinking, is not fooling anyone. It is providing many of us with reasons to shake our heads in sadness of how our brothers and sisters can be so inhuman, though, and at a certain point to save ourselves, we gotta' laugh at it. With our lives and world on the line, can we learn to tolerate each other and live side by side?
Our military personnel and their families are bearing up under such stress and long deployment. Most of us could not survive, apparently, as they are. But, the injuries, scars, and memories are there. We have to support all of these people now and in the future. I pray our country can provide every single thing needed by our veterans and their families as they come back to life among us. War sucks. Our men and women fighting it are mostly courageous and heroic figures. My best thoughts, concerns, and prayers for strength to hold up under this stress and comfort from pain go to all these brave people and their families. I have friends who have returned from Iraq. I am so relieved to have them back under the roof with their families.
I look toward a country where all can worship, or not, whatever Creative Spirit they feel inspired to worship, where we can all feel that we are part of the solutions and treated fairly, and we enjoy the freedoms set forth in the guiding ideals of America in our Constitution and Bill of Rights; where men and women from all positions of the political spectrum can work together, at least, with the goal of striving toward that perfection, although always just out of reach; and a world where we tolerate each other and would never think of disrupting the cities and lives of others for a grab of resources and profit.
I will be holding that vision, sailed to and fought for by my ancestors. Please believe and have faith. Do good stuff, at least for you and your family if not for all others just because we are all of the same stuff. lulu

Our plans have changed and twisted like a DNA model as far as this evening's plans go. Things have taken unexpected twists and turns everywhere we look. My advice? Have a back-up plan. Whatever you plan, have a second choice in case the first falls through. This goes until November 19, at least. The election might have unexpected consequences.
About the "war on terror". When did it start? How will we know when it is over? In looking back through history, humanity has been fighting this to some degree all along.
Spreading democracy throughout the world, too? Not all people, areas, or religions are compatible with democracy at this time.
Rehabilitate a sexual predator? Not a chance. If they are to live in a "free" society, they really need their own so the rest of us are not some supply of victims. The idea of a colony for predators is not that strange. I am so sick of hearing about a predator released back into society to repeat their deranged fantasies.
Treat others as you would have them treat you. lulu
