Good Lord! Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah is picking up secret code words in statements made by The President regarding the future Supreme Court pick. So, where did he get that decoder ring?

Some years ago, we would hear about a shooting such as the one in New York, the one in North Carolina, and the many others in the US, perhaps once a year, or so.
These days we are hearing of the story almost daily. Am I alone in thinking this is insane and has to change? Think about it. The NRA, with that door straight to W's oval office for the past 8 years, is responsible for being sure that anyone, insane or mentally ill, can go buy a gun in the United States any time the mood strikes them.
When will people stand up to demand change?

I am now learning about opening an ebay store. I've been pretty steady with selling parts of my tarot card collection, jewelery, clothing, and astrology readings/chart interpretations. I love doing the interpretations, obviously, the most. There are so many really neat people out there. It helps keep one optimistic and upbeat.
Sundays are different now, since Tina passed on. It was Sunday morning, 3/8, when she went to the hospital by ambulance because of a stroke. She was in a coma, and never recovered. She passed on less than 48 hours later. We all miss her terribly. Tina, in fact, had a successful ebay store, and she encouraged me to open my own. My in-law's house now has a gorgeous photo of my late sister-in-law and friend, and a small cloisonne urn with some of Tina's ashes in the front room. Many people say, "Hi, Tina!" when walking into the home, past the objects.
This week is our spring break and I look forward to not driving back and forth. It'll give me time to plan my store. At this moment, everything else is in a holding pattern, which is a good thing. Birds are migrating and I love to listen to the different songs outside. I've figured out what 2 of the 3 rocks are that I collected from the beach. I'm going to check into other books in the library to ascertain the identity of the third chunk of earth (or the crust, to be exact). Have you seen History Channel's 'How the Earth Was Made'? I am a faithful viewer and it inspired me to begin collecting rocks again, like I did as a kid. Sort of a re-birth? There are quite a few interests or hobbies that I gave up when I got busy in high school. With the kids old enough to be pretty independent, it's time to go back to those things that I thought were so exciting. They still are! Can you imagine?
Take care!

"Those who say money can't buy you happiness don't know where to shop."
Everyone chuckles.
I don't know who said it, but they take something with a multitude of implications and want to reduce it to a trip to Neiman Marcus. Well, in short, no.
There is a lingering thought/belief that those who are "blessed by fabulous wealth" have received the gift from God because they are good people, they deserve it. Notwithstanding the leadings of the idea of karma and cause/effect, this is an idea whose time has come to forever be banished to the excuses the church bandits use to steal from the parish.
And consider the death threats received by the AIG "bonus pigs". That can't be fun. And, by the way, give it back, we can use it.
There is an idea that one might hear along with the sayings of Jesus Christ about a rich man having the chance of getting into Heaven that a camel has of going through the eye of a needle. Another interesting, but unreasonable thought pattern. Along with this, though, some hint that those who are rich have done something unethical or illegal to others in order to gain more than their fair share.
On the other end of the spectrum, we have those who claim that the ones who don't "have it all" are lazy or are not working as hard as they have to. Seriously, that is in error. Check into the numerous individuals who have gained a fortune after several failures or bankruptcies, or have lost it all through no fault of their own.
Without enough, in certain countries you cannot afford good health care which dooms you to a short life and/or a miserable life of pain and illness. I wait for the day that America joins the fine countries in Europe and Scandinavia who provide free health care to it's citizens. It would be nice if everyone reached out to some of those farthest away to be sure they have decent health care, too. What a monumental way to uplift humanity.
Today I heard someone I dearly love criticize someone else who I dearly love.
"S/He's always getting in the way."
"It's all her/his fault that I miss my pet so much."
Unfortunately, this very lopsided, damaging view of someone who's been through the trenches and deserves every blessing they have was uttered by the one who benefits the most from having the bills paid by said blessed party. The person with the view of the glass half-empty can no longer work to provide for themself, and is dang lucky to have a family member that can help.
Strangely, the person who has received the (I feel) very deserved blessing of a comfortable life with someone they love has had to deal with, I guess, envy and resentment from family members. The person's intelligence is challenged by the mouth while the hand is out and open to be filled. Like the above, what should be an appreciation is somehow blamed for one's misery.
I tried to interject that the giving soul has also had a hard time, not wanting to further spark difficult emotional reactions in one already hurting. Now everyone is hurt. It hurts me to hear all of this. It probably hurts to have one's family members deliver snide comments and sarcasm when you've tried to help so much. I think the soul so filled with resentment is channeling a lifetime of inconvenience or perceived upheaval unfairly but I know I can't stop it or bring reason to prevail. I just want everyone to be content and get along. Can't this ever happen?
So if you think that when you win that lottery or meet that Mr. or Mrs. Right, the rich one, your life will be perfect, think again and be very careful about what you wish for. Friends and family who might be expected to share in your joy may just turn on you and you might not recognize them. I never anticipated these events, not in a million years, involving this decent American family. It happens a lot more than we'd like to think when one is blessed with the realization of their dreams of success, fame, and/or riches.
