Mishandling
classified information. Americans' security is not as good as it was
when he and Cheney walked in the back door of the White House. They are
the reason we are not as secure. We lost a very valuable intelligence
agent due to their desire to get back at her husband. Her contacts were
betrayed by their careless actions, too. Their families and children
were affected. I wonder how many people died after the cover was blown.

We have to get these people out of a position of
leadership. They are destroying our country and our constitution. Write
your senators and representatives to let them know you care about this.
Additionally, recently there has been talk about 'more terrorist attacks' in the U.S. from Bush's cohorts. Santorum essentially called for an attack, Chertoff has a 'gut feeling' that an attack is coming soon (they seem to like to attack in the summer, he says), and Bush himself has said something similar. Well, first of all, if we're fighting over there so they don't come here, it's not working. Bring our people back here to protect our shores. Secondly, I can't get rid of the thought of Bush calling on that directive which puts him in charge of everything in the case of an 'emergency'. Martial law. Will he leave office on January 20, 2009, when the next president is inaugurated? I think he and Cheney will try everything they can to hang onto power and the Middle East. They have a vision of global power for the US, as insane as it seems to you (hopefully) and me. (If you agree with them, I know the name of a few good specialists you could see.) Finally, do you think they believe another attack is the only way for them to get their control back? People are calling for impeachment, investigations are taking place and Bush tells his friends who are subpoenaed to testify to say nothing or don't go; so things are closing in - they're cornered. Think about it. I think it's worth impeaching soon to get beyond this possibility and to begin rebuilding our military and our economy. Whether a large enough majority to impeach exists in Congress is uncertain but Bush is concerned about how he will play in the history books. He has been consulting with historians about his image for future generations. If action to impeach is brought to his attention, perhaps he will realize that he has gone too far.
Enduring, positive social institutions like marriage...
It seems enduring and positive for him as long as he can frequent brothels!
I can't believe (actually I can) this Republican hypocrisy.
U.S. Military Losses Hit 4,000 in Iraq, Afghanistan (Update1)
By Robin Stringer
Soldiers take a break during a search for weapons caches
July 9 (Bloomberg) -- Four thousand U.S. service members
have died in U.S. President George W. Bush's ``war on terror'' in
Iraq and Afghanistan 5 1/2 years after American forces ousted the
Taliban in December 2001.
A total of 3,596 have died in Iraq since the March 2003
invasion that removed Saddam Hussein from power. Some 2,957 of
that number were killed in action, according to the latest
Department of Defense figures. More than 26,500 personnel have
been wounded in that conflict, 11,959 of them so seriously they
couldn't return to duty.
In Afghanistan, 404 American personnel have died, of which
224 were killed in action. Those deaths include 61 personnel who
died in Pakistan and Uzbekistan in support of the operation. Some
1,361 have been injured; 813 of them couldn't return to duty.
In Iraq, an insurgency rages against U.S. and coalition
forces. The first six months this year were the deadliest yet for
the American military, with more than 580 killed.
Cheney aide passed Plame's name to Libby, Hadley, those close to leak investigation say
With
the possibility of indictments just days away, sources close to the
investigation into who outed covert CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson have
provided RAW STORY
a more detailed account into how and why Plame's name was leaked and
what role the Pentagon and the vice president's office played.
Those close to the investigation say that Special Prosecutor Patrick
Fitzgerald has been told that David Wurmser, then a Middle East adviser
to Vice President Dick Cheney on loan from the office of then-Under
Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Affairs
John Bolton, met with Cheney and his chief of staff I. Lewis “Scooter”
Libby in June 2003 and told Libby that Plame set up the Wilson trip. He
asserted that it was a boondoggle, the sources said.
Libby then shared the information with Karl Rove, President Bush's
deputy chief of staff, the sources said. Wurmser also passed on the
same information about Wilson to then-Deputy National Security Adviser
Stephen Hadley and then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice,
they added.
Bush spares Libby from 2 1/2-year prison term
President leaves fine, probation intact for convicted ex-White House aide
Vice
President Dick Cheney, left, stands with his former adviser I. Lewis
"Scooter" Libby in July 2005. President Bush commuted Libby's prison
sentence Monday and left intact a $250,000 fine and two years probation.
WASHINGTON
- President Bush spared former White House aide I. Lewis “Scooter”
Libby from a 2˝-year prison term in the CIA leak investigation Monday,
delivering a political thunderbolt in the highly charged criminal case.
Bush said the sentence was just too harsh.
I can't remember the last thing the Bush administration has done that was not illegal, immoral, or unethical. Can you?
About one half of all Americans are fed up with it and want their
country back minus the lies, greed, hatred, selfishness, and
corruption.
Let's take back truth, charity, hope, (freedom of) faith, prudence, justice, wisdom, and courage. Virtues.
If you are going to pick up your children from your ex-spouse, I suggest giving them a minute to say their 'good-byes' privately, or at least semi-privately.
Example: Children are leaving for a 5day vacation with you and your new girlfriend. Don't go inside the ex-spouse's home and let it sound like you've just won the lottery while you wait for your children to get ready to leave. Sometimes it is sad for a parent to say "good-bye, have fun, I love you" even if only for five days. It might not be a sad event for you, but you might be surprised to know just how many people do feel sad in a situation like that.
If you are not aware of this, or if you just don't care, you are a clod.
It is impolite and crude to:
Talk about how well you're doing now that you moved in with your new 'boy or girl-friend' and don't have to pay rent.
Discuss your new sex life.
Tell how many waves the new friend caught at the beach or how many miles they covered in the marathon yesterday with a tone of awe and reverence in your voice.
Ask your ex-spouse to make phone calls or reservations for you.
This is a perfect song to go with my feelings tonight. Blues.
Once again, it's time for my son's dad to take them off to beautiful surroundings to have fun. They're going to the Sequoias this time. Water park. Cabin. Fishing. Sounds great but the picture is completed by another lady, not the kids' mother.
When this happens, I always try really hard to stay balanced and positive. After 27 years of history, marriage, children, and divorce, I guess it's more difficult than I give the situation credit for. I don't want pity from myself or anyone else.
Things were alright until dad left with the older son this afternoon to go shop for some new hiking boots. I was asked to put a few things in a bag for my younger guy. My older boy and I let out a chorus of, "He can do it himself." I couldn't help it when these words surged into the driveway from deep in my 'beingness'. "If I don't go, I don't pack." The feelings were there, no doubt about it.
That gets my sons involved in this whole ridiculous drama much more than I care to see. I don't mean to be a jerk about helping my kids have a nice vacation. Even while they're at a swimming party which prevents them from getting things ready themselves (almost). It's just the idea that my ex asked but I was left out of the scene 6 years ago when he filed for divorce because "I guess a family isn't what I really want after all." After I invested 20 years into the effort, I wasn't pleased to hear of it.
I don't joke about mid-life crisis much any more. Gotta' go say goodbye - they're here now to grab some stuff.
